Halstead is a vibrant and historic market town, surrounded by the picturesque Essex countryside.
Halstead really is a great place to live. This charming, lively Essex town has a wealth of shopping facilities, cafes and restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets. It has good road links to Braintree, Colchester and Chelmsford and is frequently a finalist in the prestigious RHS ‘Britain in Bloom’ competition.
Halstead high street is a short walk from Priory Hall and hosts many of the major retailers including Sainsbury’s, WH Smith and the Co-Op as well as having a range of independent and specialist shops and boutiques. It also has the benefit of all the services you could need, including a post office, doctors and dentists.
There’s lots to discover in Halstead including the large antique centre in the old mill alongside the river, the modern leisure centre, the town theatre, the library or if you fancy a game of bowls then all you have to do is stroll next door to the Courtaulds Sports Ground.
For me it has been a good move and I have made many new friends. An ideal and safe environment for retirement.
